What if life‘s greatest challenges are actually invitations to know God more deeply? Through a journey that began with a pancreatic cancer diagnosis and unfolded into one of faith, surrender, and unexpected grace, Andrea shares how a personal relationship with God transformed not only her circumstances, but her heart.
In August of 2013, a Christian musical group by the name of Hillsong UNITED released an incredible song titled “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)).” From the first time I heard that song, I absolutely loved it! I came to learn, however, that I struggled when I sang along because of the song’s words. In my opinion, they are a cry for the building of faith through circumstances beyond one’s ability to understand or cope. I can’t tell you how many times I encouraged people to listen to the song and then laughed about the fact that I didn’t have the guts (really, the faith) to sing it.
At that time in my life, I knew I feared the Lord, but I did not, under any circumstance, want to grow closer to Him through any scenario that required complete surrender through intense hardship and pain to the point of complete mental and physical collapse. At no point in time did I see that scenario as being a good thing, much less an honor. Then I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
This is a story of Hope. This is a book about difficult times and the faithfulness of God. If you’re struggling, need encouragement, and want to hear how God proves faithful to His Word, keep reading. His mercy and peace in a time of crisis, no matter how difficult, are enough.
Andrea is a wife, mother, registered nurse, cancer survivor, and woman of unwavering faith whose life has been shaped by both unexpected challenges and abundant blessings. Married to her husband for many years and blessed with two grown children, she treasures time spent with family, animals, travel, and the beauty of God’s creation.
Although trained as a registered nurse, she spent much of her professional career in medical sales and marketing, building meaningful relationships and connecting with people from all walks of life. In 2020, her life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. What followed was a journey marked by uncertainty, courage, perseverance, and an ever-deepening trust in God.
Today, she divides her time between Tennessee and Florida, where she finds peace near the saltwater and inspiration in the simple gifts of life. After completing her cancer treatments, she felt compelled to write this book—not only to share her story, but to give purpose to the trials, lessons, and blessings that emerged from her diagnosis and treatment. Through honest reflection and faith-filled encouragement, she hopes that others will come to know an unwavering relationship with Christ.
Above all, she believes that God’s faithfulness has carried her through every chapter of her life. It is her prayer that readers will be inspired to find courage in adversity, purpose in life’s challenges, and hope in the promises of God.
